Notice of a Data Incident

Commencement

All graduating UConn Health students are invited to attend the commencement ceremony for UConn Health. This includes Master’s, Ph.D., Dental, and Medical candidates for graduation. For additional commencement information, including how and when to order regalia, visit the Student Affairs website.

You are invited to participate in the commencement ceremony if:

  • You completed all the necessary requirements for a graduate degree during the fall 2023 conferral period.
  • You plan to complete the necessary requirement by the end of spring or summer 2024.

If you have completed (or plan to complete) the necessary requirements during the spring or summer 2024 conferral periods, you must complete the application for graduation and submit your degree name no later than March 1. This information confirms that a seat will be reserved for you at the ceremony, that guest tickets will be available for you, and that your name will be in the program.

 

D.M.D. Graduation Requirements

All graduating students must complete the following items by the deadlines indicated. Students who do not complete these requirements by the posted deadlines will not receive a diploma until all requirements have been met.

If you plan to participate in the UConn Health Commencement Ceremony, you must complete the application for graduation and submit your degree name no later than March 1. This information confirms that a seat will be reserved for you at the ceremony and that guest tickets will be available for you.

Diplomas for graduating Medical and Dental students as well as May candidates for the Master’s and Ph.D. degrees will be mailed post-commencement. Refer to the above instructions to update your post-graduation address in Student Admin.

There may be mailing delays, however students will receive an email once the diploma has been sent. Diplomas will be sent via standard USPS mail, therefore allow 7-14 business days domestically and up to 6 weeks for international mailings. The diploma is sent in a large cardboard mailer that may be left at the door instead of in the mailbox.

Conferral Deadlines

Graduate degree conferrals occur three times each year in May, August, and December. Please refer to the UConn Health Academic Calendar to familiarize yourself with the specific deadlines related to announcement of the doctoral dissertation as well as submission of documents to UConn Health and Storrs. Failure to meet the submission deadlines could result in a delay of your degree conferral.
