Optimal Diabetes Care: HbA1c Testing by Private Insurance
Summary of Current Results
This information represents a group of patients diagnosed with diabetes (type 1 and type 2) ages 18-75 who have private insurance.
- Slightly greater percentages of females than males diagnosed with diabetes had HbA1c testing.
- In 2015, the year prior to the CT SIM implementation, 80.6% of females diagnosed with diabetes and 80.2% of males diagnosed with diabetes had HbA1c testing.
- Since the implementation of CT SIM in 2016, the percentage of females diagnosed with diabetes who had HbA1c testing rose to 86.6 in 2016 and 86.4% in 2017. The percentage of males diagnosed with diabetes who had HbA1c testing increased to 85.3% in 2016 and to 85.5% in 2017.
