Summary of Results
The following information represents patients 20 years of age and older who had an ambulatory or preventive care visit. The time period was the past year for Medicare patients and the past year or two for patients with private health insurance coverage.
- Slightly greater percentages of females than males had an ambulatory or preventive care visit.
- In 2015, the year prior to the CT SIM implementation, 98.3% of females who had Medicare health insurance coverage and 98.8% of females who had private insurance coverage had an ambulatory or preventive care visit. Since the implementation of CT SIM in 2016, the percentage of females who had an ambulatory or preventive care visit increased for those with Medicare insurance coverage to 98.5% in 2016, and to 98.6% in 2017. Females with private health insurance coverage decreased to 98.5% in 2016, and 98.3% in 2017.
- In 2015, the year prior to the CT SIM implementation, 97.0% of males with Medicare health insurance coverage and 96.8% of males who had private health insurance coverage had an ambulatory or preventive care visit. Since the implementation of CT SIM in 2016, the percentage of males who had an ambulatory or preventive care visit increased for those with Medicare insurance coverage to 97.1% in 2016, and 97.3% in 2017. Males with private health insurance coverage decreased to 96.6% in 2016, and 96.4% in 2017.
