Summary of Results
- The percentage of adult Connecticut residents who are obese varies by insurance type. In 2018, of adult Connecticut residents who were considered obese, 27.0% were covered by Other/Unknown insurance, 26.3% had private insurance, 27.8% were covered by Medicare, 26.2% had no insurance coverage, and 34.0% were covered by Medicaid.
- Individuals with private insurance saw the largest increase in percentage of obesity (4.4%) between 2015 (21.9%) and 2018 (26.3%).
