Continuing Medical Education
The Office of Community and Continuing Medical Education provides educational events for physicians and other clinicians both within UConn Health and throughout the state of Connecticut. Visit the Community and Continuing Medical Education website.
Epic (Electronic Medical Record)
In order for you to provide care at UConn Health, it is necessary for you to complete Epic training prior to seeing patients and an additional personalization session (2 hours) on a later date. No paper records, paper orders, or verbal orders are accepted. UConn Health relies on the use of the electronic medical record.
We understand that you may have used, or are currently utilizing, Epic in another institution. We also appreciate how valuable your time is and want to ensure you are receiving the training most appropriate for your Epic experience. The training content is specific to UConn Health workflows.
A four (4) hour instructor-led class is required if you have used Epic for less than one (1) year.
You may opt for an online training and assessment if you have at least one (1) year of prior Epic experience. A passing grade of at least 80% is required to approve your Epic access. To opt for the online course, simply email the statement below to EpicRegistration@uchc.edu:
“I attest that I have at least one-year of Epic experience. I would like to opt for the online training and assessment. I understand that I will be required to complete an instructor-led course if I am unable to pass the assessment within three (3) attempts.”
Training Registration: Please email EpicRegistration@uchc.edu as soon as possible to register for your required training. If you do not attend the required training sessions, you will not have access to Epic. Please provide your anticipated start date.
