  • Dr. Zhao-Wen Wang was recently awarded an R01 grant totaling 2.83 million by the National Institute of Mental Health to investigate how melatonin regulates synaptic transmission and sleep through the BK channel (Slo1) in worms and mice, and how an E3 ubiquitin ligase regulates Slo1 through a putative inhibitory regulator of the channel.   • Kiramayi Vedantham, a graduate student in the lab, received an award for her poster presentation at Neuroscience Retreat 2022 of the neuroscience graduate program.
  • Michal Ragan, a graduate student in the lab, will give an oral presentation of his work on C. elegans Slo1 at the C. elegans Topic Meeting: neuronal development, synaptic function and behavior in Vienna, Austria.
  • Kiramayi Vedantham, a graduate student in the lab, will give a poster presentation of her work on mouse Slo1 at the Ion Channels Golden Research Conference in South Hadley, MA.
  • Dr. Zhao-Wen Wang will give a plenary oral talk on the molecular mechanisms of gap junction current rectification at the International Gap Junction Conference in A Coruna, Spain.
