Celebrating Diversity and Promoting Inclusion in Medicine

The Office of Multicultural and Community Affairs (OMCA) focuses on promoting and facilitating an inclusive environment for instruction, research, and health care delivery at the UConn School of Medicine (SOM) in alignment with the school’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

OMCA aims to be a resource for the SOM and UConn Health communities, particularly for those representing diversity in all its varied expressions, including but not limited to, gender, race, ethnicity, physical ability, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

Our programming and initiatives, grounded in amplifying diversity and inclusion, cultivate leadership, integrity, and engaged citizenship among our students, faculty and staff.

OMCA promotes and nurtures perspectives that are enhanced by the celebrated differences in culture, experience and values. To achieve this goal, the OMCA works to emphasize diversity in the recruitment, retention, and advancement of students, faculty and staff.
