Fostering Excellence Through Representation and Access in Medicine
The Office of Multicultural and Community Affairs (OMCA) is dedicated to fostering a respectful and supportive environment for instruction, research, and health care delivery that promotes equal opportunity for all members of the UConn School of Medicine (SOM) community.
OMCA serves as a resource for the SOM and UConn Health communities, supporting individuals from all backgrounds and experiences, including those historically underrepresented in the medical profession.
Our programming and initiatives are designed to cultivate leadership, integrity, and engaged citizenship by supporting broad participation and addressing structural barriers to opportunity.
OMCA supports a culture of collaboration and academic excellence enriched by varied life experiences. To this end, it works to broaden access in the recruitment, retention, and advancement of students, faculty, and staff.
