Laurencin of the CT Convergence Institute at UConn Health and Dr. Ranjan Srivastava of the UConn Chemical &amp; Biomolecular Engineering Department jointly sponsored a table at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers\u00a0(AIChE) Annual Gala in New York City. The gala celebrates the contributions of chemical engineers in addressing societal needs.<\/p>\n<p>Funds raised help underwrite the expansion of the AIChE Foundation\u2019s Doing a World of Good campaign initiatives, which supports leadership development and retention programs aimed at women engineers and engineers from underrepresented groups, efforts to improve pre-college STEM education, and programs that inspire women engineering undergraduates, graduate students, and young professionals.<\/p>\n<p>AIChE is the world&#8217;s leading organization for chemical engineering professionals, with more than 60,000 members from more than 110 countries. AIChE encompasses a host of complementary chemical engineering communities, each with a distinct focus and composed of chemical and related engineers and scientists who contribute according to their technical skills and unique aptitudes.
