Postdoctoral Position in Biostatistics and Computational Biology

Duties and Responsibilities: A postdoctoral position is available in the Center for Quantitative Medicine (CQM), UConn Health. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Miranda L. Lynch on developing, validating and applying quantitative and computational approaches to high dimensional data in cancer and infectious disease research. Training activities will include development of computational skills in high dimensional data analyses, professional development via training in research presentation, grant writing and publication. Additionally, there will be opportunities to mentor students through the CQM REU program (http://cqm.uchc.edu/biomath/). Initial appointment will be for 12 months, with possible extension based on performance and funding considerations. The position includes a generous benefits package. Position Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, computational biology or a related field by the start of the appointment. Candidates should have proficiency in R/Bioconductor, and experience in another programming language or statistical/mathematical software environment (Matlab, Python, Perl, etc.). Experience with commonly-used statistical approaches to high dimensional data is helpful but not required.
