Over the next four weeks, the Department of Public Health Sciences is running a social media campaign called\u00a0<\/span>What Is in Your Health Professional Toolkit?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>Each week takes up one part of the question, and we are asking students to weigh in \u2014 not just to read along. If you are studying public health, allied health sciences, nursing, exercise science, nutrition, psychology, healthcare administration, or you are on a pre-med or pre-PA track, this is aimed at you.<\/p>\n

The four weeks<\/h2>\n

Week 1 \u2014 Career Goals & Inspiration.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>Where do you want to end up, and what pointed you there? We will share paths that public health graduates actually take, including the ones that are not obvious from the outside.<\/p>\n

Week 2 \u2014 Skills for Success.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>The practical layer: data literacy, writing, working across disciplines, communicating with communities rather than at them. What you can start building now, before you need it.<\/p>\n

Week 3 \u2014 College & Professional Life.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>Coursework, research opportunities, internships, and the unglamorous logistics of getting from a class roster to a r\u00e9sum\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Week 4 \u2014 Future Impact.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>The long view \u2014 what students want to change, and how a career in public health connects to that.<\/p>\n

Each week includes an engagement post, a story poll, a short video, and reminder stories. You can join at any point; nothing builds on what came before.<\/p>\n

The giveaway<\/h2>\n

To make participating a little more worthwhile, one participant will win a\u00a0<\/span>Back-to-School Health Professional Toolkit<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>\u2014 a mystery bag with UConn swag, study supplies, wellness items, professional development resources, and a few public health\u2013themed surprises.<\/p>\n

Entries are earned through the same engagement the campaign is about, and they stack. You can enter more than once:<\/p>\n

Comments are worth more than reactions on purpose. What we are hoping for out of this campaign is conversation \u2014 a student naming the skill they are worried about, or an alum saying what they wish they had known. That is more useful to the next student reading than a like count.<\/p>\n
