The Department of Psychiatry plays an active role in educating medical students across all four years of training. Current or rising third-year students with questions about the Psychiatry Clerkship should contact Dr. Mario Fahed, third-year Psychiatry Clerkship director, or the clerkship program coordinator, Ms. Tracy Drzyzga at 860-679-8917<\/a>.<\/p>\n Psychiatry Grand Rounds lectures are presented on Fridays from 11 a.m. to noon during the academic year (September through June). The schedule posted lists dates, speakers, and the general topics. Students can be placed on the inpatient general psychiatry unit, the Intensive Outpatient Programs, the Emergency Department or the Geriatric Psychiatry Program, or a rotation through several of these services. Additional learning opportunities through Grand Rounds and Schwartz Rounds are also available to students during their affiliation.<\/p>\n All schools require annual contracts and need to be CSWE accredited.
