He has performed more than 14,000 neurosurgery cases, more than half to treat cerebral aneurysms or brain tumors.<\/p>\n<p>A pioneer of early aneurysm surgery, Dr. Hernesniemi\u2019s clinical interests include vascular neurosurgery, skull base surgery, and brain tumors. He is credited with establishing an aneurysm database in eastern Finland.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Hernesniemi has published journal articles on cerebrovascular diseases, brain tumors, and neurosurgical techniques.
