September first marked a milestone for three of our faculty. Drs. David Martinelli and Ephraim Trakhtenberg received academic tenure and promotion to the rank of Associate Professor, while Dr. Stephen Crocker, who had previously been awarded tenure, was promoted to the rank of full professor. All three faculty, along with the other faculty in the School of the Medicine who were also promoted this year\u00a0were recognized at a reception under the Academic Rotunda on Wednesday evening hosted by the medical school Dean Dr. Bruce Liang and Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Dr. Kiki Nissen. Neuroscience chair, Dr. Riqiang Yan, took the opportunity to announce these promotions at the reception and highlighted the continued successes of these faculty and the department.
