Neurosarcoidosis

Neurosarcoidosis is a rare condition that can affect the meninges (membranes that line the skull), cranial nerves, and the brain parenchy or the functional tissue of the brain that is responsible for cognition and controlling the body. This condition can lead to chronic neurological disability and can spread throughout the body. The disease requires prompt diagnosis and appropriate management that includes MRI imaging of the brain, sometimes the spine, and additional tests. We have expertise in the treatment of neurosarcoidosis and collaborate with UConn Health rheumatology and pulmonology for patients that need infusions and other biological medications.
