The following is the protocol of shipping embryos for mice providers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Superovulate donors and collect E0.5 to E2.5.<\/li>\n<li>Fill a cryovial with the M2 or advanced KSOM to the top to avoid trapping air in the vial.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer the embryos to the cryovial and seal the vial with parafilm.<\/li>\n<li>Put ice packs in a styrofoam container.\u00a0 Place cryovial in a 50ml tube stuffed with tissues to keep upright.\u00a0 Place tube in between ice packs.\u00a0 Send by FedEx overnight.<\/li>\n<li>Inform the CMGM when the donors are superovulated, so that we can prepare the embryo recipients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please submit a completed <a href=\"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/mouse-genome-modification\/service-request-forms\/\">Rederivation Request Form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This includes housing the pups until three weeks old. After pups are weaned we need to do health testing for recipient moms. The cost will be paid by investigators.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to ship cryopreserved mouse embryos, a dry liquid nitrogen shipper is available at the CMGM.
