Lync is an instant messaging and online conferencing application that allows all UConn Health entities and participating partners to communicate in new and exciting ways. Lync is a client application that can be installed on Windows PCs, MACs, and mobile devices. Collaborators without the client software can still attend online meetings by downloading and installing the free Lync Attendee client.
In addition to standard instant messaging, Lync also supports video and voice sessions, application and desktop sharing, participant polling, shared whiteboarding, and more. Lync integrates with the Outlook mail client and supports “presence awareness” which can display if you are in a meeting or available for collaboration. All UConn Health faculty, students, and staff are covered by our Microsoft Campus agreement so there is nothing to buy.
