{"id":1968,"date":"2022-01-19T12:57:54","date_gmt":"2022-01-19T17:57:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/healthcare-compliance-privacy\/?p=1968"},"modified":"2023-02-21T13:04:31","modified_gmt":"2023-02-21T18:04:31","slug":"information-blocking-and-test-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/healthcare-compliance-privacy\/2022\/01\/19\/information-blocking-and-test-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Information Blocking and Test Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Information Blocking Rule permits clinicians to withhold certain electronic health information from a patient\u2019s MyChart if the clinician determines that doing so will substantially reduce a risk to the life or physical safety of the patient or another person (i.e., an \u201cunreasonable risk of harm\u201d).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #339966\">If you withhold a test result from MyChart based on an unreasonable risk of harm, you must promptly release the result after you discuss it with the patient.
