Vendor/Contractor Training

If vendors and contractors meet certain criteria, they are required to complete compliance training.  The following questions will assist you with determining whether a particular vendor/contractor should complete UConn Health’s Compliance Training for Vendors/Contractors:

  1. Will the vendor/contractor have access to Protected Health Information (PHI) or locations containing PHI? If yes, the vendor/contractor should complete the training. If no, go to Question #2.
  2. Will the vendor/contractor have direct interaction with patients? If yes, the vendor/contractor should complete the training. If no, go to Question #3.
  3. Will the vendor/contractor provide services related to billing or coding? If yes, the vendor/contractor should complete the training. If no, go to Question #4.
  4. Will the vendor/contractor perform/provide any other activities/services that involve patient information, clinical care, or the payment for clinical care? If yes, the vendor/contractor should complete the training. If no, training is not required.
