Please check back in October 2026 for Winter 2026\/2027 updates.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>About the UCHL Winter Intensive Program:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UCHL functions year-round, focusing on training pre-health professional students on how they can help advocate and improve the way we deliver health care for our patients. In return, we hope these students will enter their career field more eager and prepared to tackle the social determinants of health that affect the health of our patients.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Winter Intensive Program will run from <\/span><b>December 15th <\/b>to <strong>January 9th <\/strong>(4 weeks), and participants will gain <strong>64<\/strong><strong style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0hours<\/strong> of direct patient care experience through volunteering both outpatient at UConn Health Farmington Outpatient Pavillion and UConn Health West Hartford. <span>Participants will spen<\/span><span>d\u00a0<\/span><span>2 weeks in Farmington and 2 weeks in West Hartford.<\/span> They will be <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">required to complete <strong>eight 8-hour volunteer shifts<\/strong> in total during the course of the program. There will also be two mandatory meetings. <\/span>There will not be any shifts on 12\/24, 12\/25, or 1\/1.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants in this program will also have the opportunity to learn about social determinants of health and at-risk populations through our educational curriculum.
