Priority acceptance into the program will be given to former Great Explorations, Jumpstart, and Junior Doctors Academies participants and students enrolled in Hartford Public Schools who are first-generation college or low income students.<\/li>\n<li>Provides students with a review of pre-calculus, calculus, biology, physics, anatomy and physiology, and writing.<\/li>\n<li>Offers a four-week, Monday-Friday, Summer Academic Enrichment Program for the selected students.<\/li>\n<li>Offers a 21-week, Saturday Academy during the academic school year where students can continue to enhance their academic skills, college preparation, and exposure to careers in the health professions.<\/li>\n<li>Classes are held at UConn Health and PeoplesBank Arena, Hartford. Transportation is provided to Hartford residents.<\/li>\n<li>Provides qualified students with an earned stipend.<\/li>\n<li>Geared towards students who meet certain socio-economic guidelines (low income and\/or first generation to attend college) and demonstrate a strong motivation and potential to enroll in a four-year college program. See application for additional qualification criteria.<\/li>\n<li>Parent\/Guardian Orientation Workshops are held for all students participating in the program.<\/li>\n<li>Parental Seminar Series are held for parents\/guardians of all students participating in the program.<\/li>\n<li>Enables students to be eligible to participate in the Pre-college Enrichment Program during the summer of their graduating senior year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Important Dates<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>October 9, 2025: College Admissions Panel<\/li>\n<li>October 18, 2025 to May 2, 2026: 25-week Saturday Academy<\/li>\n<li>June 22, 2026 to July 17, 2026: 4-week, Monday \u2013 Friday Summer Program<\/li>\n<li>May 1, 2026: Application deadline for new participants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Apply<\/h3>\n<p>All Applicants Should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a rising senior in high school.<\/li>\n<li>Have a \u2018B\u2019 average or better.<\/li>\n<li>Submit an essay.<\/li>\n<li>Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.<\/li>\n<li>Provide two letters of recommendation from a Science or Math teacher or guidance counselor.<\/li>\n<li>Have an official transcript submitted from each high school attended.<\/li>\n<li>Submit a completed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/uconn.co1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_b3KQB4oKDsCHVL8\">application form<\/a> using the online system.
