Priority consideration will be given to pipeline participants.<\/li>\n<li>A five-week summer program.<\/li>\n<li>Provides students with a research experience in one of the basic science or clinical laboratories.<\/li>\n<li>Held at UConn Health or Central Connecticut State University.<\/li>\n<li>Requires students to be able to commute daily to UConn Health or Central Connecticut State University.<\/li>\n<li>Provides students with an earned stipend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Important Dates<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span>June 15, 2026 to July 17, 2026:\u00a0 Five-week, Monday-Friday Summer Program<\/span><\/li>\n<li>April 1, 2026: Application Deadline<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Application Criteria<\/h3>\n<p>All Applicants Should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have completed their junior year of high school with a \u2018B\u2019 average or better and have reached their 16th by the start of the program.<\/li>\n<li>Be first-generation college, low income, and educationally under-resourced students who meet all eligibility criteria and have a high probability of fulfilling the social and educational goals of this program.<\/li>\n<li>Be a Connecticut resident and attend a Connecticut high school that has a guidance counselor during the academic year, as well as summer months. This does not apply to Connecticut high school graduates or students who will be 18 years of age at the start of the program.<\/li>\n<li>Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Apply<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Submit a completed\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/hcop\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/61\/2021\/01\/HSSRAP-Application.pdf\"><span data-ogsc=\"black\">application form<span class=\"x_flag\">.pdf<\/span><\/span><\/a><span> to Jan Figueroa at <a href=\"mailto:jfigueroa@uchc.edu\" title=\"mailto:jfigueroa@nso1.uchc.edu\" data-linkindex=\"1\" data-ogsc=\"\">jfigueroa@uchc.edu<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Submit an official transcript from each high school attended.<\/li>\n<li>Provide two letters of recommendation, at least one from a science teacher.
