Priority consideration will be given to pipeline participants.<\/li>\n<li>Is a eight-week program.<\/li>\n<li>Is designed to provide a laboratory research enrichment experience and some exposure to medicine or dental medicine.<\/li>\n<li>Is for students who are interested in a career in medicine, dental medicine or biomedical research and for applicants who have completed some college coursework in biology and chemistry (preferably through organic chemistry).<\/li>\n<li>Is devoted to approximately 40 hours per week of work on a research project.<\/li>\n<li>Provides meals and a stipend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The selected student will identify a faculty sponsor. Faculty develops and makes available suitable project descriptions. The student contacts his\/her faculty sponsor in April or May and develops a research protocol. Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) students are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: none;\"><a class=\"btn btn-blue btn15\" href=\"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/hcop\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/61\/2016\/10\/handbook_summer_research.pdf\">Handbook<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Important Dates<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>March 1, 2022: Submission date for all applications. All applications must be submitted by midnight March 1 to be considered for admission.<\/li>\n<li>March 1, 2022: Submission date for all supporting documents.
