As a result, the program has grown at a rapid pace. Presently, UConn John Dempsey Hospital offers a variety of procedures that very few pulmonary\/critical care programs can offer.<\/p>\n<p>Our pulmonary\/critical care fellows have exposure to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Argon plasma coagulation<\/li>\n<li>Chest tube placement<\/li>\n<li>Cryotherapy<\/li>\n<li>Endobronchial ultrasound<\/li>\n<li>Medial thoracoscopy<\/li>\n<li>Navigational bronchoscopy<\/li>\n<li>Photodynamic therapy<\/li>\n<li>Pleural ultrasound<\/li>\n<li>Pulmonary stenting (metal and silicone)<\/li>\n<li>Rigid bronchoscopy with tumor destruction<\/li>\n<li>Thoracentesis<\/li>\n<li>Tunneled pleural catheters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The fellows participate in two operating room days a week while rotating through the pulmonary medicine consultation service at UConn John Dempsey Hospital. During the fellowship training program, the fellow will have the opportunity to participate in a unique approach to pulmonary medicine.
