{"id":5904,"date":"2018-01-16T14:49:07","date_gmt":"2018-01-16T19:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/graduate-medical-education\/?page_id=5904"},"modified":"2025-04-28T14:43:53","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T18:43:53","slug":"application-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/graduate-medical-education\/geriatric-medicine-fellowship\/application-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Application Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pl-5904\"  class=\"panel-layout\" ><div id=\"pg-5904-0\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-5904-0-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-5904-0-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_black-studio-tinymce widget_black_studio_tinymce panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"0\" ><div class=\"textwidget\"><h3>Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>Most physician applicants will have completed training in internal medicine or family medicine, but those board eligible in neurology, rehabilitation medicine or psychiatry will be considered.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants need to have passed USMLE parts 1, 2, and 3 prior to initiation of fellowship.<\/p>\n<p>ECFMG is required for graduates of foreign medical schools.<\/p>\n<h3>Application<\/h3>\n<p>Our program is a participant in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/students-residents.aamc.org\/attending-medical-school\/how-apply-residency-positions\/applying-residencies-eras\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).<\/a>\u00a0Submit your application online through <a href=\"https:\/\/students-residents.aamc.org\/attending-medical-school\/how-apply-residency-positions\/applying-residencies-eras\/\">ERAS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applications must include:\n<ul>\n<li>Photo<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Curriculum vitae<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Personal statement<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Copies of USMLEs (Steps 1, 2, and 3)<\/li>\n<li>ECFMG (if applicable)<\/li>\n<li>Dean's letter<\/li>\n<li>Medical school transcript<\/li>\n<li>Three current letters of recommendation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program accepts\u00a0three\u00a0(3) applicants per year.<\/li>\n<li>Unfortunately, our program does not support applications from those on H1B Visas (J-1 is acceptable).<\/li>\n<li>Applications for the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program must be received by\u00a0October 10.<\/li>\n<li>If selected for an interview, you will be contacted by the Fellowship Coordinator via telephone or email.<\/li>\n<li>Interviews take place during the months of\u00a0June\u00a0through\u00a0October. Family medicine and mid-career applicants for fellowship are welcome.
