Welcome to the UConn Anesthesiology Residency Program website!<\/p>\n

Our department is completely focused on providing optimal training and academic opportunities for our residents. The diversity and depth of our clinical training is unrivaled. Education over service is prioritized in our program. The number of residents is small relative to the total number of cases performed, so residents are assigned to the most optimal cases for their training; not the cases the services require to be covered. Educational opportunities are plentiful and varied. Our faculty are passionate about teaching. There are vibrant research efforts integrated into the fabric of the department. There are academic opportunities for residents to pursue throughout UConn, as well as many avenues to pursue fellowships, if desired.<\/p>\n

Program Aims<\/h3>\n

  1. To train consultant anesthesiologists who excel in caring for any patient in any practice environment;<\/li>\n
  2. To provide an outstanding educational experience that allows for the development of lifelong skills to evaluate and master new concepts and techniques; and<\/li>\n
  3. To create future practice, academic, and societal leaders.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    These aims are derived from our Departmental Mission, Vision, and Core Values statements (see below).<\/p>\n

    The mission of the UConn Health Department of Anesthesiology has four parts:<\/p>\n
