We help our residents develop a professional and personal identity. We hope all of our residents become leaders in their chosen fields. To this end, we have a structured curriculum to help develop residents as researchers, teachers and leaders.<\/p>\n<h3>Highlights<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Orientation: cultural sensitivity, community engagement, PALS, NRP<\/li>\n<li>Outpatient Case Conference on non-acute care rotations<\/li>\n<li>PL-1 summer orientation series for further development of essential skills as a physician<\/li>\n<li>PL-1 spring PICU orientation series in the spring prior to starting PICU rotations in PL-2 year<\/li>\n<li>Access to PREP and MedStudy curriculum<\/li>\n<li>NEJM Knowledge + and NEJM 360 which are additional resources for board prep and general pediatric knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Board review weekly<\/li>\n<li>Monthly journal club<\/li>\n<li>Participation in quality and safety root cause analyses<\/li>\n<li>Outpatient case conference for residents on non-acute care rotations<\/li>\n<li>Protected educational time\n<ul>\n<li>Academic Half day incorporating didactics, case base education, simulation, and other educational activities<\/li>\n<li>Evidence based medicine conferences weekly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Faculty mentor meetings twice a year to review individualized learning plans<\/li>\n<li>Program director meetings twice a year<\/li>\n<li>Two full-day retreats for each class<\/li>\n<li>Well-Being committee activities to enhance connectedness and resiliency<\/li>\n<li>Four professionalism sessions per year<\/li>\n<li>Career development series<\/li>\n<li>Financial literacy education<\/li>\n<li>Behavioral health emergency training<\/li>\n<li>Financial support for each resident to attend a conference (more if presenting)<\/li>\n<li>Four sessions on \u201cResidents as Teachers\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The program understands the importance of professional development.
