Welcome from the Program Director<\/h2>\n

Thank you for your interest in the UConn-Waterbury Internal Medicine Residency Program!<\/p>\n

At UConn-Waterbury, we train resident physicians to be life-long learners who provide comprehensive care for the patients they serve. Throughout their training, our residents gain vast clinical exposure in diverse environments, from our outpatient center to the intensive care unit, and from community to university settings. We utilize a rigorous academic curriculum that supports the development of each learner.<\/p>\n

We are deeply proud of the residents who join our training program from all over the globe, each with their own unique story, all unified by a shared mission of clinical excellence and compassionate care. After residency, our residents go on to become excellent internists in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and many pursue subspeciality training at institutions throughout the United States.<\/p>\n

Our residents support one another, sharing their knowledge, teaching and mentoring medical students, and collaborating on scholarly projects. Outside of work, they enjoy time together in various activities such as fall hikes, potluck dinners, and drives to New Haven for its famous pizza.<\/p>\n

Our faculty are world-class teachers and clinicians who share a passion for patient care and residency training and seek to guide physicians who will one day become their colleagues.<\/p>\n

As Program Director, I am committed to fostering an environment of inclusivity, intellectual curiosity and where we recognize the joy and meaning of our work.<\/p>\n
