It includes a robust experience with a range of patients, using multiple psychotherapeutic modalities in a nurturing environment. Graduates of the program are well-prepared to enter advanced training in psychotherapy and to utilize various psychotherapies immediately after residency in their career of choice. Elements include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Additional psychotherapy patients and hours in PGY3 and PGY4 years (which may include specialty clinic experiences):\n<ol>\n<li>Five (5) or six (6) weekly psychotherapy sessions during PGY3 year<\/li>\n<li>Four (4) weekly psychotherapy sessions during PGY4 year<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Weekly participation in the psychodynamic reading group for two years or more<\/li>\n<li>Three of the following activities:\n<ol>\n<li><em> <\/em><em>A year-long training in CBT as a PGY3 (this is typically selected for all track participants)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Six to twelve months rotating at the VA PTSD Clinic<\/li>\n<li>Six to twelve months in the Graduate Student Mental Health Clinic<\/li>\n<li>Six months of DBT training and experience under the supervision of Dr. Jessica Meyer<\/li>\n<li>Six months of Interpersonal Therapy training and experience<\/li>\n<li>Participation at the Western New England Psychoanalytic Institute (25 hours or more)<\/li>\n<li>A scholarly accomplishment focused on psychotherapy (with approval of the track director)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The psychotherapy track is a two-year elective experience available to any PGY2 through PGY4 resident.
