As a result, we implemented our Well-Being Committee, led solely by residents many years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Currently lead by Dr. Laura Peyton Ellis and Dr. Moli Karsalia they oversee the organizing of social gatherings and other group events throughout the year. Residency is a time of intense training, so we encourage our residents to prioritize their mental and physical well-being to reduce burnout and build resilience.<\/p>\n<h3>Organized Activities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Fall and Spring Resident Retreats<\/li>\n<li>Formal Mentorship Program (lead by faculty)<\/li>\n<li>Annual Winter Celebration<\/li>\n<li>ACOG Wellness Week<\/li>\n<li>Graduation<\/li>\n<li>Intern Welcome Reception<\/li>\n<li>Free lunch Fridays at all clinical sites<\/li>\n<li>Program sponsored international electives (Grenada and The Philippines)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Resident Benefits<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/graduate-medical-education\/wellness\/counseling-services\/\">Free confidential counseling services available to residents (go here for more info)<\/a><\/li>\n<li>ACOG Junior fellow membership paid by the program<\/li>\n<li>Q Banks (Rosh Review\/True Learn) paid by the program<\/li>\n<li>$2,000 travel funds to attend conferences<br \/>\n(additional funds available for residents presenting at national meetings)<\/li>\n<li>$2,750 stipend for educational funds<\/li>\n<li>Free parking at all training sites<\/li>\n<li>ACLS fees covered (including renewal after 2 years)<\/li>\n<li>Vacation: four weeks every year (including flanking weekends free from call)<\/li>\n<li>Fitness centers at all clinical sites<\/li>\n<li>Residents are scheduled for periodic afternoons off during all four years.
