She then attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, graduating in 1999. She completed her residency at the Saint Francis Family Medicine Practice Residency Program in Wilmington, Delaware.<\/p>\n<p>After working for several years as a family medicine faculty member in Wilmington and practicing at a satellite office in Newark for predominantly a Hispanic immigrant population, Dr. Mansilla and her husband and four children relocated to Connecticut in 2006. She joined the Department of Family Medicine and very quickly became the director of medical student education, a role she held until 2018 when she was appointed program director.<\/p>\n<p>Through the years, she has been a leader in undergraduate medical education and residency education. She dedicates her career to teaching, as well as to community and educational programs. She continues to be a core faculty for the Urban Service Track, which trains students and residents to work with urban and rural underserved population in a true interprofessional and collaborative practice model. Dr. Mansilla also continues to practice full spectrum family medicine: outpatient, inpatient, obstetrics, and procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Mansilla\u2019s passion for education, for community service and her patients has not wavered.
