Internet Point of Care CME (IPoC)

To support the School of Medicine’s CME strategic plan, the Office of Community and Continuing Medical Education is pleased to offer Internet Point of Care (IPoC) learning. Journal-Based CME

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Office of Community and Continuing Medical Education, is pleased to offer Journal-Based CME. This program is intended to help licensed physician faculty, community preceptors affiliated faculty, and APRNs of the UConn, meet the Department of Public Health's relicensure requirements for Connecticut physicians. The specific requirements of: behavioral health, cultural competency; domestic violence; infectious diseases (including HIV/AIDS); risk management (including prescribing controlled substances and pain management); and sexual assault are available. Faculty Learning Express (FLEX)

Cancer Genetic Clinical Education (The Jackson Laboratory)

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Office of Community and Continuing Medical Education and the Jackson Laboratory jointly provide this program to primary care providers, residents, and students.  This program is designed to help primary care providers to build on their clinical skills by using a combination of online case-based modules around topics of assessing cancer risk, managing patients with increased cancer risk, and interpreting genetics and genomic test results. Interprofessionality: Teaching Team-Based Care

Introduction to Primary Care Career Advising and Mentoring Program

UConn Tumor Board CME

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Office of Community and Continuing Medical Education, is now offering CME to our UConn licensed physician faculty/clinicians, affiliated UConn licensed physician faculty/clinicians, APRN’s, and other invitees or learners who actively participates and attend any of our live UConn Health Tumor Board sessions.  The CME office values the uniqueness of the Tumor Board learning process in which it addresses the educational content differently than our other more common traditional CME learning activity types, along with the understanding that each member of the Tumor Board is indeed an active learner.  Please earn your CME for attending one of our “live” UConn Tumor Boards by completing the CME evaluation today! UConn Case Conference CME

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Office of Community and Continuing Medical Education, is now offering a NEW centralized Case Conference CME to our UConn licensed physician faculty/clinicians, affiliated UConn licensed physician faculty/clinicians, APRN’s, and other invitees or learners who actively participates and attend any of our approved departments case conference as listed below who’s meetings are held as “live” sessions.  The CME office values the uniqueness of the Case Conferences as a learning process in which it addresses the educational content differently than our other more common traditional CME learning activity types, along with the understanding that each member of the Case Conference committee is indeed an active learner. The University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Office of Community and Continuing Medical Education and the Office of Graduate Medical Education, have come together to offer the Culture, Diversity, and Inclusiveness: A Hands -on Training to Learn Practical Skills training course program.  This program is intended to help UConn Health, Affiliated faculty that have teaching roles in our UConn-sponsored residency and fellowship programs in recognizing the microaggression, identify ways to address microaggression, and guidelines for teaching in the clinical setting.  For more information regarding this program, please contact Dr. Steven Angus at angus@uchc.edu.

Ouch that Hurts: 6 Session Series on Guidelines for Pain Management, Opioid Prescribing, and Communication Tools
