Possible areas of study include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>mobile technologies and measurement of alcohol use in natural environments<\/li>\n<li>alcohol-related health disparities<\/li>\n<li>relationships between alcohol use and substance use treatment outcomes<\/li>\n<li>alcohol\u2019s impact on health conditions (e.g., HIV, diabetes) and health behaviors (e.g., medication adherence, risk behaviors)<\/li>\n<li>risk factors for alcohol misuse and use disorders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our lab focuses on behavioral interventions, including contingency management. Faculty mentors and expertise include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Sheila Alessi:<\/strong>\u00a0Intersection of mobile technologies and behavioral AUD\/SUD treatments; biosensors; biomarkers<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Carla Rash:<\/strong>\u00a0AUD\/SUD in severely disadvantaged populations, homelessness and housing<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Kristyn Zajac:<\/strong>\u00a0Young adults, post-traumatic stress disorder and AUD\/SUD treatment, internet gaming disorder<\/p>\n<p>With our program\u2019s emphasis on comprehensive career mentorship, fellows will also select a secondary mentor and an external advisor from a larger pool of training faculty.<\/p>\n<p>Past fellows in our lab published 4-12 papers in 1-2 year periods. All attained choice university positions, most received independent NIH grant support, and many applied for and obtained support from the NIH Loan Repayment Program.\u00a0The fellowship provides training in alcohol-related research, a stipend and health insurance, tuition for workshops, and travel funds for alcohol-related conferences.<\/p>\n<p>Please send cover letter, CV, a statement of training and career goals, names of 3 references, and transcript to:<\/p>\n<p>Sheila M.
