In total, students were placed in 838 rotations.<\/p>\n<h2>HEALTH CAREERS RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING<\/h2>\n<p>Between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, 3,432 learners in grades K-16 and health profession student and adult programs participated in an AHEC-sponsored program, including over 700 students who took part in 15 or more hours of programming. Recruiting under-represented minority students into the health careers is a focus area of the Connecticut AHEC Network.<\/p>\n<p>Between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, 4,280 web learners used Connecticut AHEC's <a href=\"http:\/\/healthcareersinct.com\/\">Health Occupations and Technology (H.O.T.) Guide<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/chwresourcesct.org\/\">Community Health Workers resource site<\/a> or downloaded an <a href=\"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/connecticut-area-health-education-center-network\/urban-services-track-and-ahec-scholars\/urban-service-talks\/\">Urban Service Talks podcast<\/a>. The H.O.T. Guide, a resource for middle and high school students, academic and career counselors, teachers, school-to-career coordinators and adult learners, is a comprehensive guide to the health and biotechnology careers for which there is an educational program offered in Connecticut.<\/p>\n<h2>CONTINUING EDUCATION<\/h2>\n<p>Connecticut AHEC continuing education programs are provided in collaboration with a wide variety of internal and external partners. Between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, the AHEC Program sponsored or co-sponsored 29 continuing education offerings totaling 91 sessions with a total of 596 participants attending. Topics included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Community Health Worker Training<\/li>\n<li>Immunization<\/li>\n<li>Lead Poisoning Interventions<\/li>\n<li>Leadership Development<\/li>\n<li>Nurse Preceptor Academy<\/li>\n<li>Primary Care<\/li>\n<li>Substance Abuse Prevention<\/li>\n<li>Team-based Training<\/li>\n<li>Veteran Suicide\/Depression Risk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"u22536-63\">CONSUMER EDUCATION<\/h2>\n<p>Between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, Connecticut AHEC provided health education to 8,850 community members on topics including behavioral\/mental health, diabetes, hypertension, immunization, men\u2019s health, nutrition, oral health, senior health, substance use prevention, summer precautions (heat, sun), tick and mosquito prevention, and others.
