Scholars participate on interprofessional research teams focusing on health care issues with the ultimate goal of creating better health outcomes for patients and communities. Student teams are placed at community partner agencies for six weeks, working collaboratively with staff from the cooperating agency and supported by discipline-specific faculty within the UST\/AHEC Scholars Program. At the end of the six weeks, scholars are required to submit a manuscript about the research project's goals and outcomes, as well as a poster for submission and presentation to professional meetings and conferences.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Community partner agencies supporting research projects include:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li id=\"u23099-10\"><a class=\"nonblock broken_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hartfordct.gov\/Government\/Departments\/HHS\"><span id=\"u23099-7\">City of Hartford Health and Human Services (HHHS)<\/span><\/a><span id=\"u23099-9\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"u23099-13\"><span id=\"u23099-11\">Connecticut Center for Primary Care (CCPC<\/span><span id=\"u23099-11\">)<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"u23099-17\"><a class=\"nonblock\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chcact.org\/\">Community Health Center Association of Connecticut (CHCACT)<\/a><\/li>\n<li id=\"u23099-20\"><a class=\"nonblock broken_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/khmerhealthadvocates\/\"><span id=\"u23099-18\">Khmer Health Advocates (KHA)<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li id=\"u23099-24\"><a class=\"nonblock\" href=\"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/connecticut-area-health-education-center-network\/\">Connecticut Area Health Education Centers (AHEC)<\/a><\/li>\n<li id=\"u23099-27\"><a class=\"nonblock\" href=\"https:\/\/icrweb.org\/\"><span id=\"u23099-25\">Institute for Community Research (ICR)<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>UST\/AHEC Scholars are encouraged to present scholarly work at state, regional and national meetings as means of professional growth and development.
