This training ensures they can utilize the microscopes effectively and<br \/>\n    safely. Alternatively, users who prefer or require assistance can opt for assisted usage, where a<br \/>\n    knowledgeable member of the CCAM facility staff will control the microscope on their behalf. This<br \/>\n    flexibility accommodates varying levels of expertise and comfort with the equipment, ensuring all users<br \/>\n    can access the facility's resources efficiently.\n  <\/p>\n<p class=\"section-spacing\">\n    <strong>Please note:<\/strong> Training or assisted use sessions will only be scheduled once a user can confirm they have a CORES account, linked to a grant, and a CAM account.\n  <\/p>\n<h4 class=\"emphasized-heading\">Request Form<\/h4>\n<p>Once we receive your request form, you will meet with the facility's staff to discuss your imaging needs.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"section-spacing\">\n      Please complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/cell-analysis-modeling\/ccam-microscopy-user-request\/\" target=\"_blank\"\n        rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microscope Training and Service Work Form<\/a>.\n    <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 class=\"emphasized-heading\">Scheduling<\/h4>\n<ol class=\"section-spacing\">\n<li>Training sessions are conducted on a case-by-case basis, with a maximum of two trainees per session.<\/li>\n<li>It is highly recommended to be trained within a week of intended microscope use to avoid repeated sessions due to lack of use.<\/li>\n<li>Service work is performed on an as-needed basis.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 class=\"emphasized-heading\">Billing and Reservation System<\/h4>\n<ol class=\"section-spacing\">\n<li>\n      You must create an active account in the <a href=\"https:\/\/secure6.ideaelan.com\/uconn\/public\/applogin.aspx\" target=\"_blank\"\n        rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CORES<\/a>billing &amp; scheduling system.\n    <\/li>\n<li>\n      You must have a grant that can be charged for the initial training session\/service work and any future microscope use in the <a href=\"https:\/\/secure6.ideaelan.com\/uconn\/public\/applogin.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CORES<\/a> system.\n    <\/li>\n<li>\n      Speak to your PI and your department\u2019s administrative staff to get coding arranged for you in the <a href=\"https:\/\/secure6.ideaelan.com\/uconn\/public\/applogin.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CORES<\/a> system.\n    <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 class=\"emphasized-heading\">Data Storage<\/h4>\n<ol class=\"section-spacing\">\n<li>\n      <strong>Do you have a CAM account?<\/strong> The CAM account allows you to log into the user computer<br \/>\n      and to store your data remotely.<\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li><strong>Yes \u2014<\/strong> please see below regarding the lab folder.<\/li>\n<li class=\"section-spacing\">\n          <strong>No \u2014<\/strong> visit <a href=\"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/high-performance-computing\/contact\/\" target=\"_blank\"\n            rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">High Performance Computing<\/a> to request a CAM account.\n        <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n      <strong>Does your PI have a CAM lab folder?<\/strong> This <strong>optional<\/strong> lab folder is the<br \/>\n      location for you to store your data remotely and is only shared with current lab members.<\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li><strong>Yes \u2014<\/strong> please have your PI visit <a href=\"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/high-performance-computing\/contact\/\"\n            target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">High Performance Computing<\/a> to request that you get access to the shared folder via your CAM account. Please be sure that they provide the network location of the folder and your name and email credentials.\n        <\/li>\n<li>\n          <strong>No \u2014<\/strong> please have your PI visit <a href=\"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/high-performance-computing\/contact\/\"\n            target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">High Performance Computing<\/a> to request a CAM lab folder. You are advised to refer to <a\n      href=\"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/cell-analysis-modeling\/confocal-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sample Preparation<\/a> regarding the preparation of your sample for viewing on our microscope systems. If you will be using live specimens, it is recommended to bring a fixed sample, using the same or similar fluorophores as with the live specimen to the initial training. Staff will help those with live samples transition to the live samples in a subsequent training session.\n  <\/p>\n<h4 class=\"emphasized-heading\">Useful Tools<\/h4>\n<p>\n    Please refer to the spectral tools below to see if your probes are compatible with our <a href=\"https:\/\/health.uconn.edu\/cell-analysis-modeling\/ccam-microscopy-equipment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">equipment<\/a>.
