A Message from the President of the CCA<\/h2>\n

As President of the Connecticut Council on Adoption<\/a>. I would like to introduce you to CCA<\/a>. The CT Council on Adoption was formed in 1976 to monitor adoption practices in Connecticut. CCA<\/a> has been incorporated and re-established non-profit status last year. We are a volunteer group of social workers, adoptive\/foster parents, probate judges, therapists, birthparents, and adoptees. We are able to influence major issues in adoption around the state, and advocate for legislative changes. We provide statewide training on adoption issues. We have several committees devoted to specific issues: the Program Committee plans the statewide trainings, the Practice Committee provides resources for professionals in the adoption field, and our Legislative Committee keeps posted on any legislation affecting adoption.<\/p>\n

We welcome new members at any time during the year, which follows the calendar year of January 1 through December 31. To become a new member, please visit the\u00a0 CCA Membership Options site<\/a>. We are hopeful that anyone who is touched by adoption in some way would be interested in joining us.\u00a0 Contact CCA directly if you wish to make a nomination.<\/p>\n

CCA annually presents an award to someone who has demonstrated excellence in adoption practices in Connecticut and has contributed to the successful placement and services offered to children.
